Otter.ai Secures $320M Growth Capital to Scale Enterprise Voice AI
Meeting intelligence platform Otter.ai has raised $320 million from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund, marking one of the largest growth investments in voice AI. The non-dilutive capital will fuel enterprise expansion, product innovation, and international growth as competition intensifies in the meeting automation space.

Otter.ai has closed a $320 million investment from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund (CVF), a structure that provides growth capital without equity dilution and ties returns to marketing performance outcomes. The nearly decade-old startup plans to direct the funds toward enterprise go-to-market execution, international expansion, and product roadmap acceleration.
The company reports crossing $100 million in annual recurring revenue last year and growing its cumulative user base to 40 million, up from 25 million a year earlier. However, Otter has not disclosed monthly active user counts or churn metrics — key indicators in a category crowded with well-funded rivals such as Fireflies.ai, Read AI, Granola, and newer entrants including Calendly, Wispr, and Superhuman (which acquired Fathom).
From transcription to workflow automation
The competitive dynamic is shifting from simple note-taking to deep enterprise integration. Otter and its peers are racing to connect meeting data with CRM, project management, and knowledge bases to automate follow-up actions. Recent product moves include a cross-application search layer, a meeting assistant that surfaces context from prior conversations, and a live in-meeting AI that can answer questions in real time.
Newly appointed CMO Alex Gay, formerly of Superhuman, frames the opportunity around "meeting-heavy roles" where professionals spend excessive time recapping prior discussions. Otter is experimenting with pre-meeting briefs synthesized from historical transcripts and a Live Assist feature that lets participants query the assistant during calls.
Why it matters for GPU / AI infrastructure: Real-time transcription, speaker diarization, and on-the-fly LLM inference for live meeting assistance demand low-latency GPU compute at scale. As Otter and competitors roll out always-on AI features across millions of concurrent sessions, the underlying inference infrastructure becomes a critical cost and performance lever — precisely the workload profile AiGpu's cloud is optimized to serve.
