Everything announced at Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Ultra event
Microsoft unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra with Nvidia RTX Spark, new Windows Hybrid Intelligence features, and a developer‑focused RTX Spark Dev Box.

Microsoft unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra, a high‑performance laptop built around Nvidia’s new RTX Spark Arm‑based processor. The base configuration, featuring an 8‑core CPU, 24 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, is priced at $2,599 and will ship on October 16. The device replaces the proprietary Surface Connect charger with a magnetic USB‑C charging solution, simplifying deployment in professional environments.
Alongside the hardware, Microsoft detailed new Windows capabilities under its ‘Hybrid Intelligence’ umbrella. Copilot now gains direct access to local files, enabling it to locate documents, rename them, create archives and even draft emails without leaving the OS. A refreshed search bar also offers quick actions, streamlining workflow for power users and enterprise IT teams.
Hybrid Intelligence expands Copilot’s reach
The company also introduced the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a compact workstation aimed at developers who need GPU‑accelerated Arm computing. Priced at $5,999, it is available for preorder now with shipments slated for November, positioning the platform as a viable alternative to traditional x86 development rigs.
Why it matters for GPU / AI infrastructure: the RTX Spark chip demonstrates Nvidia’s commitment to delivering discrete‑class GPU performance on Arm‑based laptops, opening new avenues for on‑device AI inference and training. For IT managers and AI engineers, this means reduced reliance on cloud resources, lower latency for edge AI workloads, and a more flexible hardware ecosystem that can be managed through familiar Windows tooling.
