Instinct AI Agent Enters Group Chats, Works Even Without Friends’ Accounts
Instinct’s AI agent can now join group conversations, allowing users to coordinate plans without requiring every participant to have an account.

Starting today, early access users can add the Instinct AI agent to any group chat. The agent functions for the whole thread even when some friends have not signed up for Instinct, removing the barrier of mandatory accounts.
Typical use cases include planning trips, securing event tickets, managing fantasy leagues, organizing carpools, and coordinating who brings what to holiday gatherings. The agent helps reduce the back‑and‑forth that usually stalls group decision making.
Privacy and Trust Controls
Instinct designed the feature with privacy in mind. A user’s personal agent asks for permission before linking with the group’s agent, and users can select which groups they trust and revoke that trust at any time. The group agent operates in a silo that cannot access personal data, and the personal agent always seeks approval before sharing information or taking action.
Compared with rivals such as Meta’s Muse, which still lacks native group chat support, and OpenAI’s ChatGPT Dots that operate in collaborative workspaces, Instinct’s move gives it an edge in the consumer AI agent race.
