Aina Unveils AI Ring with Screen, Joystick, and Mic for Seamless Agent Interaction
Aina has launched a smart ring featuring a screen, joystick, and microphone that enables direct conversation with AI agents. Priced at $399, the device acts as a controller for both AI and traditional applications, building on the lessons from their previous Mirage product. With voice commands for note-taking, agent prompts, and reminders, plus call capabilities and smart home control, the ring addresses the need for better interfaces when managing proactive AI agents across multiple devices.

Aina, a Dubai-based hardware startup, has introduced a smart ring that reimagines wearable AI interaction. The device integrates a small screen, a tactile joystick, and a built-in microphone, all housed in a sleek ring form factor. Priced at $399, it positions itself as a versatile controller capable of managing both AI-driven agents and conventional applications.
The ring's speaker enables voice calls, while its microphone allows users to dictate notes, send prompts to AI agents, and set reminders using their preferred dictation engine. Navigation is handled through a joystick combined with touch gestures, enabling users to trigger actions based on the current state of their phone or computer screen. Additional capabilities include controlling music playback and interacting with smart home devices such as Apple TV.
Building on the success of their earlier Mirage controller—designed to map keyboard shortcuts to Mac app functions—Aina has expanded the feature set to include proactive agent management. The startup raised $5.5 million in July to fund this development, with pre-orders opening this Thursday at the early-bird price of $399 and full shipping scheduled for January 2027.
In a competitive landscape that already includes devices like the Pebble Index 01, Sandbar Stream, Oasis, and Natura, Aina differentiates itself with a richer set of controls and a more integrated interface. Founder Apoorv Shankar emphasizes that phones and laptop screens were designed for browsing, not for interacting with proactive AI agents, and that a better interface is essential for managing multiple running agents. This hardware aims to serve developers, AI enthusiasts, and professionals who rely on a suite of AI applications across their digital ecosystem.
Why it matters for GPU and AI infrastructure: As AI agents become more autonomous and proactive, the traditional input methods on screens are no longer sufficient. A device like the Aina ring represents a shift toward multimodal interaction—combining voice, touch, and visual feedback—enabling more natural and efficient management of AI workflows. For enterprises and power users, this could streamline agent orchestration, reduce context switching, and improve overall productivity in AI-driven environments.
